Lake Tahoe Winter Engagement | Ashley and Chris
Meet Ashley and Chris! Like so many couples these days, they met online and instantly had a connection. Their first date was in March of 2020. Chris new Ashley loves seafood so he took her to her favorite restaurant, EMC Seafood. Chris arrived with pink tulips, Ashley’s favorite flower, and wore a pink shirt to match. He really thought of everything.
As they talked through their date, the waitress caught on to their instant chemistry. Ashely whispered to her that it was their first date. The waitress was shocked. She thought they were celebrating an anniversary. She gave them dessert on the house.
After dinner they talked outside the restaurant for 5 hours!! Ashley said they would have talked through the night if she didn’t need to get some sleep for a trip she was taking the next day. I related to so much to this. Todd and I were the same way the day we first met.
What stood out to Ashley was how real and genuine Chris was, and it didn’t hurt that he was handsome! To her, he was the total package. The more they talked and learned about each other, the more their similarities appeared.
For Chris, he said when he first saw her and gave her the flowers, he saw the most beautiful woman in front of him. He the thought to himself that there was no way this could really be Ashley, but it was and he was so happy! He felt super lucky to have a first date with her. While they talked outside the restaurant, Ashley made it clear what she was looking for in a relationship. Chris was very fond of this, he had never met a woman so focused on the future she wanted to have with her significant other.
You guys, I can barely write this without getting teary! I just LOVE a good love story!! Anyway, back to their engagement session. I am so excited I finally get to share Ashley and Chris’s Lake Tahoe engagement session, and let me tell you, it is BEAUTIFUL! Lake Tahoe has always been special to them, so it was only fitting that we took their engagement pictures here.
Each time I visit Lake Tahoe I discover something new and I fall in love with it even more. In June of 2021 I had the pleasure of second shooting a wedding with my girl at Susy Photo from Kansas City. You can see those images here. After that experience, I was hooked and wanted all my sessions to be here. What made this session even more exciting was the snow!
We planned for an early morning session so we could catch the best light and avoid tourists. Ashley and Chris met us at our hotel at 7:00 AM. We were not prepared for how cold it would be that morning! As soon as I got outside to the car my hands were frozen. I told Todd I was going to need some gloves or I wouldn’t be able to hold my camera. We stopped at a store on our way to our location and picked up some gloves. It turns out I wouldn’t end up needing them. By the time we got to where we were going it had warmed up and I was actually sweating!
Chris and Ashley were amazing!! A lot of our shots required hiking or tromping through deep snow. They didn’t complain once! Chris and I had our fair share of stepping into a hollow area of snow and dropping to our waist. It made for some great laughs.
I can’t wait to share this gallery with you. It is hands down one of my favorite engagement sessions ever. Lake Tahoe didn’t disappoint. I don’t think it ever could. Enjoy!
