Sportsmen’s Club wedding | fresno, ca
The weather was PERFECT for this spring Sportsmen’s Club wedding. It had been raining a few days before and we even had some overcast days, but the day of the wedding the sun was shining as bright as the smiles on Chris and Briana’s faces!
We met Briana and Chris on a local Facebook page for weddings. They were looking for a photographer so we threw our hat in the ring in hopes we would get a chance to meet them. Briana reached out to us and we scheduled a coffee date. On our way to meet them I found out that Chris and I have a mutual friend. This would be the first thing I asked about when we got there. Turns out our friend was Chris’s roommate! Small world!!
Our time with Briana and Chris was so much fun. We loved them the instant they entered the room. They were so sweet and and just the most adorable couple we have ever met. I could have sat and talked with them forever. We were so thrilled when they decided to share their wedding day with us! We knew they were going to be forever friends after that.
Chris and Briana met in a very storyteller worthy way. Chris is a police officer and responded to a call regarding a drunk driver. Briana was volunteering at a local Boys and Girls Club when her car was struck by a drunk driver! Thankfully she wasn’t in it! After Chris did his police officer thing, taking all the details and writing a report, he asked Briana if she was a Christian. She said she was. Chris then asked if he could take her fishing. Briana declined. She said, “Heck no! You’re a cop! If I don’t get back alive, no one will suspect you! So he asked her out for coffee instead. She accepted but said it would only be as friends. Chris said he didn’t think he needed another friend so the coffee date never happened, and that was the last she heard from him.
One year later, Chris messaged her again and asked if she would be interested in attending the rodeo with him. She agreed and from that moment on they were together every weekend getting to know each other and eventually falling in love.
Chris proposed to Briana on her birthday while they were kayaking on a lake. After taking a break on a rock, where they were sitting and reflecting on their relationship, Chris proposed. They celebrated that night at dinner with her family!
When it was time for their engagement session, Chris and Briana did not disappoint! They paid close attention to the tips I gave in our Bridal Guide (every bride who books with us gets one) and came ready to slay their session…and slay they did. You can see their engagement session here.
What we love about Chris and Briana is their steadfast love and adoration for each other. Their feelings of love and respect for each other just oozes out of them. We love that you can’t be sad around them. They are truly smiling all.the.time. They have a Christ centered relationship, and when you have that, nothing is too big or insurmountable. We can’t wait to see where God leads Chris and Briana…and their 7 children (that’s how many Chris wants, LOL). I know that they are going to go the distance and we pray for God’s protection over them, especially Chris, as they navigate their marriage.
Briana and Chris, congratulations on this new season! We hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in Tahoe!! Love you both!
Everyone sang The Star Spangled Banner before the ceremony began.
