Wolf Lakes Wedding | Sanger, Ca / Royal Blue and Grey
I have known Beth and her family for years. Her little sister Katie, and my daughter, grew up together. I knew Katie and her parents well, but I didn’t really get to know Beth and her twin sister Alex until later.
When Karen and Joe asked me if I’d photograph Beth and Matt’s wedding for them I was THRILLED! This family is the salt of the earth kind of family. They are so full of love and they are just fun to be around. They are the real deal. You will always laugh and feel like you’re one of them.
Beth and Matt met while working at the Meat Market in Fresno, about four years ago. They started off as friends because they were both dating other people (Cue REO Speedwagon). When they both broke up with the other person (maybe a month apart) they helped each other through the heart break. They actually almost didn’t date each other because they didn’t want it to be too soon, but realized quickly they knew that there was something special there.
One day, when Beth was dropping Matt off at work he let the words “I love you” slip. They were saying their goodbyes and as he was hurrying out the door he said, “Okay, bye, I love you!” They both stood there quiet for a minute and then Beth drove off. Matt said, “As she drove away I just felt like the biggest idiot in the world. I was thinking, ‘Wow, good job dummy, you scared her off!’ She’s driving away, never turning back, gonna quit her job…but I got lucky here.” He proposed in their apartment. Beth said it wasn’t extravagant but it was still very special!
When you see the pictures of Beth’s rings, they have a story, a HIStory. Joe, the bride’s father, placed those very rings on her mother’s hand on their wedding day 24 years ago! He said he gave her a new rings when they were more established in life. Matthew placed those same rings on Beth’s hand, and they are now starting their own journey through life together, raising their son, Nathan. May those rings bind them together in the same way that Joe and Karen have been bound together. After 24 years they are still friends. They still like to be together. They still laugh deep belly laughs. And they are still so madly in love.
I was choked up and teary eyed throughout the day. This family is so genuine. I hope you enjoy scrolling through their beautiful wedding day!!
