ELEGANT BACKYARD WEDDING | LINDSEY + MICAH

Elegant Backyard Wedding | Clovis, CA

Lindsey and Micah’s elegant backyard wedding is definitely one for the books. I am so glad I got to share their day with them, and their families! They were supposed to have their wedding in Italy but, due to COVID, they had to change their plans. I have no doubt that God knew this was the wedding they were meant to have.

When I arrived at Lindsey’s parents house it was all hands on deck to get everything ready. Family members from all over were in town for the big day. They were each given a roll and they did it with joy in their hearts and a smile on their faces. They were all so honored to be part of Lindsey and Micah’s wedding.

Lindsey’s mom, Susan, cleared their dining room so we could take bridal portraits and getting ready shots. This room was a dream! It was light and bright, and had a beautiful arched window facing the street. Wait until you see how we used it. All I need is one good window and I am golden!

After bridal portraits, it was time for us to head to Harlan Ranch for the first look. I just love first looks, for so many reasons. Micah’s reaction was so sweet. If you think that a first look takes away from the big moment when the bride comes down the aisle, just scroll down to the bridal entrance at the ceremony and see if it’s true.

One thing I adore about Lindsey is her heart for tradition. Being a traditional girl myself, I loved how traditional her backyard wedding was. During their ceremony, Lindsey and Micah took a moment to take communion, light a unity candle, and pray together. It was a special moment shared just between them.

While this wedding was a visual dream, it was also heartfelt and endearing. Their officiant did an amazing job sharing about their relationship and their love for one another.  They really are the sweetest duo.

This doesn’t happen at every wedding that I photograph, but I love it when the toasts end and I feel like I have a deeper understanding of who my bride and groom are. Their fathers and best friends shared beautiful memories of the two of them that allowed me to feel like I knew them better. I learned more about Lindsey’s heart for others, which explains why she is a nurse. Both families are deeply rooted in their faith and have strong family values.

I’m so thankful for couples who are friends and who allow me into their lives. We may only share one full day together, but I always leave feeling like I have made friends and have shared in a small but meaningful part of our their special day!! It truly is a dream job! Both of Lindsey’s parents said they feel like we are more like friends now. That is the greatest compliment I could ever be given!

I felt so honored that I was the one who had the opportunity to capture their day for their family and friends to remember forever!! Enjoy some of my favorite images that tell a visual story of their day!!

Lindsey and Micah, Congratulations!!!!!! I couldn’t be more excited for you two!!! Enjoy your wedding day from my perspective!
