BLOSSOM TRAIL ENGAGEMENT | AMANDA + LEE

Couple in blossom trees on the blossom trail

Blossom Trail and Rural Engagement | Clovis, CA

You guys, you are going to be blown away (no pun intended) by this blossom trail and rural engagement session!! It was SO windy! When I say windy, I mean the kind of windy that almost literally blows you away. You can barely walk it is so strong. Yes, THAT windy.

Meet Amanda and Lee, the cutest couple that ever will be. Corny, I know. But, they really are. Amanda is a bartender at a local pub. Lee, living close by the bar, would stop by after work from time to time and that is how he met Amanda!

They are planning the most AMAZING wedding in Santa Barbara and I can not WAIT for their wedding day. It is going to be EPIC. If their wedding day portraits are anything like their engagement session, it’s going to be gooooood, and you should for sure stay tuned to see that gallery!

Amanda and Lee wanted a blossom trail engagement session because it’s so dreamy and whimsical! Plus, they are very down to earth people, so a rural, country vibe totally fits them.

As soon as I saw Amanda in her dusty rose dress I knew they were going to kill their session….and they did not disappoint, despite the conditions.

Let’s talk about those conditions. The entire day was sunny and warm, like the most perfect February day. It was a welcomed sight after unusual amounts of rain and dreary skies. I was so happy to see some sun!

My joy didn’t last long. As soon as I walked out of my house to head to their session, I knew my glorious February day was coming to an end. The wind was insane! It was, blow power lines and trees down, insane. I was so worried because I knew it was going to affect how our time together went.

When we arrived at the orchard, along the blossom trail, we were relieved that the trees blocked the wind. Instead of gale force winds it was more of a breeze. We took some stunning portraits among the blossoms of the trees and I can’t wait for you to see them!

Our second location was a very different story. We struggled to get out of our cars. The wind was so strong it was blowing our doors closed. We could barely walk toward each other and it was so hard to talk because the wind was so loud. I gave them an option to either find a more protected location or we could reschedule the second half of their session. Amanda, being the trooper she is, wanted to give it a try. I am so glad we didn’t give up.

When you see the images from the second half of their session you will never see how insanely windy it actually was. I don’t know how we pulled it off! Actually, I do, I know what I’m doing and I know how to capture great images no matter what the conditions or location. Speaking of location, the second half of their blossom trail engagement session took place on the side of a random road. People drive past it everyday and don’t see what I see.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through this beautiful blossom trail engagement session. It is one of my favorites! Feel free to drop a comment and tell me what you love about it!
